LANDLORD CERTIFICATE - Gas Safety CertificateLandlords MUST have all their gas appliances checked once a year and obtain a Gas Safety Certificate to that effect. Failure to do so is likely to land them in serious trouble. The purpose of this check is to ensure that the gas appliances are safe to use and that they are not going to kill their tenants through explosion or carbon monoxide poisoning! Remember, this Landlord Certificate (Gas Safety Certificate) is only a snap shot of the condition on the day that it was carried out, and it is not an excuse to avoid work on the appliances should their condition change in the future! For a successful inspection I charge £50 for the boiler plus £10 for every additional gas appliance, and only £25 in the event of a failure or broken appointment.
CORGI has now been replaced by GAS SAFE REGISTER and it is very important that you make sure that any plumbers in Eastbourne that you use for gas work are registered with GAS SAFE REGISTER not CORGI. |
